About
Our Story

"In a second Kate transports participants into her world. Sometimes challenging, sometimes comforting, the value of being able to practice difficult conversations safely and convincingly and to then get detailed feedback to learn and improve is incalculable. We have collaborated with Kate on team and organisational culture change projects where she has played the challenging colleague or role modelled the authentic leader with fantastically reliable brilliance. Holos helps make change easy and Kate helps us do it."

Started by Kate Mechedou in November 2019, Mrs Bakers Medway Theatre Company Limited has already started creating and delivering ground-breaking theatrical pieces. Our live productions in unconventional places may have been delayed by the impact of the Coronavirus lockdown, but our productions have moved on line. Kate is honing her on-camera performance technique and developing a catalogue of moving, witty and entertaining characterisations for the small screen.
MBMTC is dedicated to producing pieces with a very local Medway interest. Kate lives and works in the Luton area of Chatham. Having worked in the interpretation of history for the Historic Royal Palaces (including the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace) she is fascinated by the rich history to be found in the streets around her home and by the dynamic and eclectic mix of people and art right on her doorstep.

Kate Mechedou
Kate trained as an actor at East 15 Acting School. For fifteen years she worked as Creative Director for Past Pleasures Ltd as she raised her daughter in Chatham. Kate played Mrs Sarah Baker for many years, as a character for the week long summer event 'Pleasures on the Pantiles' at Tunbridge Wells.

Mrs Baker
Mrs Sarah Baker was an eighteenth century theatrical entrepreneur. Styled as 'Governess General of Kentish Theatre' she ran a chain of theatres at sites across Kent. The 'Royal Function Rooms' in Rochester is built on the footprint of her theatre, as is the former Chatham Theatre Royal.
